Wisdom of Dying: Practices for Living
Published in Hardcover by Element Books Ltd. (July, 1999)
Average review score:

Very thought provokingA thought provoking book that allows one to confront the face of death and accept it. Most people believe themselves to be immortal until the inevitable loss of a loved one happens. This book changes that once scary part of our reality cycle into something that helps us live a more mindful life. The exercise of seeing yourself go through your last days is alone worth the price of this book. I'm young so it's hard for me to buy into all that "love everybody" message but I suspect that's a fault of mine not the authors. A very well written book that is a must read for everyone.
Moving and Touches the HeartMichael Murphy reminds us that underneath our personality, roles in life, and even the experience of death is eternal life. Here, we are transcended from self-centered awareness into life-centered awareness. In this dimension of our being, our soul is revealed. The connections made on the level of soul in our relationships create invisible bonds forever linking us as children of the Comos. Thanks Michael Murphy for your insight into the sacred human path to love. -- Samuel Oliver, author of, WHAT THE DYING TEACH US: LESSONS ON LIVING.
the best book on the subject in yearsIt was very good to read this book filled with helpfull ideas and fresh approaches to ancient themes. As a human being I recognized many of the situations that were described and as a doctor I felt proud that it was one of us who wrote this book.

WALKER MOORE IS A GENIUSI was given this book by a friend and once I started reading it I could not put it down. This book is so simple to read, yet it is so profound. The points made by Walker Moore are insightful, real, and tested through his experience (especially with those two kids of his). If you have kids, are a kid, have been a kid, or ever seen a kid, buy this book now and you will know why they do the things they do!

How do they do that? These 3-D things really irked me until I finally got it. I don't have a clue as to how it works but all of a sudden I saw a snowman on the bookcover! Nice stocking stuffer kind of book.
A Christmas Eve tradition for our family. My daughter loves the, "...'Twas the night before Christmas..." poem. We pass the book around so everyone can see the 3-D pictures (which drives my husband crazy!...he can't see 'em!) Very clever.

Average review score:

Not necessarily for the froo-froo pet!Moore offers pampering methods that your dog will actually acknowledge, enjoy and benefit from. The suggestions have the dog's health in mind and even offer solutions for common problems (like keeping your dog still during grooming,etc.). It's more of a "how to care for your dog better" book and covers all sorts of situations like travel and healthy dog recipes. The short sections and cute drawings make this a pleasure for any dog guardian to read, regardless of breed,
A Must for Every Dog Lover! This book offers great ideas for any dog lover. I have owned dogs all my life, and love to pamper them but Ms. Moore gave me so many ideas that I had never thought of. I hope she writes a second volume!

Average review score:

Questions and Answers not found in other textbooksHow many times have you taken a written exam, an oral board type test, or been bombarded with questions while on hospital rounds that simple textbook consultation failed to prepare you to handle? This book is great for medical students doing surgery rotations as well as general surgery residents trying to improve their knowledge base. I read it twice during my surgery residency and found it quite helpful. Shell out a few bucks and buy this book. It's worth it.
Just the golden moments of a 6 week surgical clerkship! This book is like having all the best advice one might hear during a 6 week clerkhsip condensed into a few dozen hours reading. Not to be missed

A Huge List of Celebrity AddressesI am an autograph collector and I was happy to see how complete this book is. I collect astronauts who have walked on the moon, hi-tech business people such as Bill Gates, movie actors like Tom Hanks and baseball sluggers like Sammy Sousa and Mark McGuire. They are in this books with thousands more. It is well organized and I liked the extra features of sample letters and questions & answers about autograph collecting. It is a very good reference for autograph collectors.

HE HAS CATEGORIZED THE CELEBRITIES AND HAS INCLUDED THE AWARDS THAT THE CELEBRITY HAS RECEIVED. HE MAKES IT EASIER TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE CELEBRITY. Ampeg: The Story Behind the Sound
Published in Paperback by Hal Leonard (July, 1999)
Average review score:

The Definitive Guide To Ampeg! This is, quite simply, the ultimate guide for anyone that has any interest in Ampeg, amplifiers, or bass guitars. A briliant job of putting together a lot of information, with a lot of great pictures.
A must own for anyone even remotely interested in the topic.
A Must Read for all Ampeg Enthusiasts!Ampeg : The Story Behind the Sound is a book that anyone who is in the music business or interested in music or recording MUST read. Gregg Hopkins and Bill Moore did an unbelievable job of tracking down and producing the last word in Ampeg bass, guitar and amplifier facts, myths and legends. This book is worth the price for the pictures alone! Having been an Ampeg user (1966 B-15N amp and 1963 horizontal fretless electric bass) since 1975, I thought I knew quite a bit about Ampeg, but this book made me feel like a novice. If you now own, have ever owned, or know someone who owns any Ampeg equipment, this is THE bible of Ampeg information; from the invention of the amplified bass peg to the difficult decision by the Hull's to sell the company, and the pictures-did I mention the PICTURES! A roomfull of upright baby basses-incredible, breathtaking! You won't be able to put it down! For collectors and working musicians alike-this book has it all! Thanks to Gregg and Bill and all the folks who contributed info, stories and pictures to this awesome tome. An amazing read!

Anatomy Recall
Published in Paperback by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins (15 May, 2000)
Average review score:

Great For Anatomy! This is a situation that most medical students will recognise. You've been humiliated by a surgeon in theatre and you desperately need to brush up on the anatomy of the wrist but you're tired, you're hungry, it's late and you just can't face trawling through a big anatomy text book to find the tiny pieces of information that your consultant will appreciate. Anatomy Recall is the answer to their prayers. Crammed into this relatively slim book is just about all the material that you'd expect to find in a standard anatomy tome. The difference here is that the information is provided in edible chunks. The entire book is laid out in a question and answer format, dramatically increasing the fact:word ratio and boosting your ability to recall it when quizzed. Diagrams are only included where absolutely necessary (brachial plexus etc) and contents, indexes and other 'wasted' pages are cut to a minimum. This means that the book is small enough to fit into a white-coat pocket. However, there are probably more important things to occupy the bulging pockets of medical students and this book will stay on the shelf by day. Even so, the small size and bite-size nature of the text means that this book is perfect for reading on the bus, over breakfast or anywhere else that you can snatch a few moments. At the end of each chapter is a 'power review' section providing the most salient and memorable points for when time is really short. There is even a handy bookmark provided to allow you to cover the question answers for self-testing. The authors claim that Anatomy Recall and a good anatomy atlas are all a preclinical student would need to learn anatomy. Having been there, I tend to disagree and feel that the only way to get a solid grounding in anatomy is by studying a respected textbook such as Snell's Clinical Anatomy for Medical Students. Anatomy Recall is useful for brushing up on anatomy knowledge once the foundations are in place but the edifice above is crumbling and decayed. This is a book that, in my opinion, no medical student can do without.
anatomy made easythis book which is part of the immensley popular recall series focuses on active aquisition of knowledge as opposed to passive learning which is readily forgotten. With a topic as vast as anatomy, which is heavy on factual knowledge this text focuses in on key areas and delivers the must know facts clearly and simply. There are power review sections at the end of each chapter to help reinforce the most salient aspects of the anatomy and these really do aid with memorization of anatomy. It is not a replacement for a comprehensive text but with the aid of an atlas it is a fantastic method of maximizing your knowledge with minimum effort or as the series editor puts it high- yield information at your fingertips. buy it and get to grips with this immensley satisfying yet difficult topic.
